Every week, thousands of independent service professionals across Ghana — barbers, hairdressers, photographers, make-up artists, coaches — book appointments that never happen. Clients commit to a time, then disappear. No call, no message, no consequence. The professional sits in an empty chair, their income gone, and a slot that could have gone to a paying client is wasted.
For a self-employed hairdresser in Accra, two or three no-shows a week is not an inconvenience — it is the difference between a profitable month and a stressful one. Yet the tools that exist to solve this problem were built for markets with different infrastructure, different payment habits, and different economic realities. They did not fit Ghana.
We built Hapo because the right tool for Ghana's service economy did not yet exist.
What Hapo does
Hapo gives every appointment-based professional a public booking page they can share with clients in seconds. When a client books, they pay a small advance deposit at the time of booking — directly through their phone, via card or mobile money. That deposit is held securely by our payment partner, Paystack, and released to the professional after the appointment takes place.
The result is straightforward: clients who pay a deposit show up. Professionals protect their time. Everyone receives automatic confirmation and reminder messages so appointments are not forgotten.

How we handle your money
We are transparent about fees. Hapo charges a platform fee on each completed booking — the exact rate is shown in your plan settings before you commit. There are no hidden charges.
All payments are processed exclusively through Paystack Inc., a regulated payment service provider operating under the oversight of the Bank of Ghana. We never store your clients' card numbers — PCI-DSS compliance is handled entirely by Paystack. Net deposit amounts are typically released to your payout account within 2–5 business days after a confirmed appointment takes place.
